How to use Abgemacht search properly

Content overview

Abgemacht search is very comprehensive and accurate tool, which give us possibility to do selection with fantastic precision. For example, you can find pages which have backlinks to the to a strictly defined page (or group of pages united by some sign) with exact anchor text, with exact word (or the whole phrase!) in page keywords or title or... or by many-many other search criteria. By means of that, you can do trace of everything, including URL, anchor text, page METAs, taking into consideration page status, response code etc. etc. etc.

What search criteria are acceptable: You can use plain text such as text URLs, part of words, etc, OR, partly, you can use regular expressions. It will be discussed in details below.

Let's look at the example of ways to search and trace the links and pages we need.

1. Search by inbound (incoming) URLs. You can use text, digits and everything which allowed in URLs.

For example:
  • a. “news” – will be selected pages that have including “news” in inbound URLs, at any place of the URL
  • b. “^https” – will be selected pages that have “https” in inbound URLs and these inbound URLs started with “https”
  • c. “details$” – will be selected pages that have “details” in inbound URLs and these inbound URLs ended with “details”

Thus, as you see, you can use just parts of the words in search criteria, OR, regular expressions which makes search more flexible and resultative.

2. Search by page URLs. You can use text, digits and everything which allowed in URLs.

For example:
  • a. “news” – will be selected pages that have including “news” in page URLs, at any place of the URL
  • b. “^https” – will be selected pages that have “https” in page URLs and these page URLs started with “https”
  • c. “details$” – will be selected pages that have “details” in page URLs and these page URLs ended with “details”

Thus, as you see, you can use just parts of the words in search criteria, OR, regular expressions. You can use one field search, two, several or all of them at any order with any values. It’s up to you! By combining search criteria in these fields, you can achieve excellent results and do search in readably precisely.

3. Search by outbound (outgoing) URLs. You can use text, digits and everything which allowed in URLs.

For example:
  • d. “news” – will be selected pages that have including “news” in outbound URLs, at any place of the URL
  • e. “^https” – will be selected pages that have “https” in outbound URLs and these outbound URLs started with “https”
  • f. “details$” – will be selected pages that have “details” in outbound URLs and these outbound URLs ended with “details”

There is one more very useful and important possibility how you can use this field: USE READY-FOR-USE EXPRESSIONS. What is that? This is a whole reserved word/hints in format ::WORD which can do something for us. For example, show all pages which have dead outbound links, or redirected outbound links, or something else. It undoable by means of usual tools but we can do it!

In general, there are the following hints types of outbound links request (copy-past or type them into outbound links field):

  • ::EXTERNAL – show me all pages of selected website test result with any external links
  • ::EXTERNAL ALIVE – show me all pages of selected website test result with external links which are alive (external links checkbox should be selected before test start)
  • ::EXTERNAL UNATTAINABLE – show me all pages of selected website test result with unattainable external links (external links checkbox should be selected before test start)
  • ::UNATTAINABLE – show me all pages (internal and external) of selected website test result which have unattainable links in outbound (Both, internal and external checkboxes should be selected before start test)
  • ::REDIRECT - show me all pages (internal and external) of selected website test result which have redirects in outbound links

You can use these search hints together with the other criteria in other search fields. It could make your search results more accurate and relevant. As you see, you can use just parts of the words in search criteria, OR, regular expressions which makes search more flexible and resultative.

4. Search in inbound anchor text URLs. You can use text, digits and other symbols, but, unlike the (1), the search is carried in anchor text of the URL, not just in URL.

For example: put “values” in field N4 – will be selected all pages which have word “values” in anchor text of inbound links of this page. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).

5. Search in page anchor text URLs. You can use text, digits and other symbols, but, unlike the (1), the search is carried in anchor text of the URL, not in URL text.

For example: use “news” in field N5 – will be selected all pages which have word “news” in anchor text of page URL. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).

6. Search in outbound anchor text of URLs. You can use text, digits and other symbols, but, unlike the (1), the search is carried in anchor text of the URL, not just in URL.

For example: put “performance” in field N6 – will be selected all pages which have word “performance” in anchor text of outbound links of this page. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).

7. Search in “page title” meta. You can use text, digits and other symbols, the search will be carried in page title of the pages.

For example: use “tea” in field 7 – will be selected all pages in which there is word “tea” in “page title” meta. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).

8. Search in “page keywords” meta. You can use text, digits and other symbols, the search will be carried in “page keywords” meta of the pages.

For example: use “tea” in field 8 – will be selected all pages in which there is word “tea” in “page keywords” meta. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).

9. Search in “page description” meta. You can use text, digits and other symbols, the search will be carried in “page description” meta of the pages.

For example: use “honor” in field 9 – will be selected all pages in which there is word “honor” in “page description” meta. If there are no such pages, nothing will be return (empty page).
